About Our Invisalign for Fort Myers Patients
Crooked, crowded or gapped teeth can make you hold back a smile in photos, at family events or in meetings. Many adults put off straightening their teeth because they expect a long, visible process. Others worry about being sold more treatment than they need, or about a bill that turns out larger than they expected.
Invisalign straightens teeth with a series of custom clear aligner trays, made to fit closely over your teeth. If you are wondering whether Invisalign really works, our article explains how the aligners move teeth, and your consultation confirms whether they suit you. Each aligner moves your teeth a little further than the one before, gradually improving crowding, spacing and some bite problems. The aligners come out when you eat and when you clean your teeth.
Treatment starts with a consultation at our Elite Coral Dentistry office in Cape Coral, where your teeth are examined and your options are explained. It helps to bring a few questions to ask an Invisalign dentist. The cost is explained after that consultation, before you commit to anything. Most PPO dental and PPO Medicare dental plans are accepted, so call to check your coverage, and CareCredit is available to help spread the cost.
- Discreet: clear aligners are hard to notice in conversation, at work or in photos.
- Removable: take the aligners out to eat and to brush and floss as normal.
- Changed at home: you move to each new aligner yourself between check-ins.
- Early starts: check-ins from 8:00am, Monday through Thursday.
- Clear costs: your treatment cost is explained before you commit, with CareCredit available.
- Questions answered: message our text line at (941) 479-2183 between visits.
Where can working professionals in Fort Myers get Invisalign treatment?
Fort Myers professionals can have Invisalign treatment at our Elite Coral Dentistry office in Cape Coral, a family-owned practice serving Cape Coral since 1985. Your consultation, aligner fitting and check-ins all happen with the same team. Appointments run Monday through Thursday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, so an early slot can come before your working day begins.
Can Fort Myers adults straighten their teeth without it showing at work?
Yes. Invisalign aligners are clear and fit closely over your teeth, so most colleagues and clients won't notice them. There are no brackets or wires, and the aligners come out for business lunches and meals. You wear them through the working day and change to the next aligner at home, which keeps treatment discreet from start to finish.
How often do Fort Myers Invisalign patients need to visit the practice?
After your consultation and aligner fitting, most of your progress happens at home. You switch to each new aligner yourself and come in for periodic check-ins, where the fit of your aligners and the movement of your teeth are reviewed. Your check-in schedule is set in your treatment plan and booked ahead, so you can plan around your week. Our article on how long clear aligner treatment takes explains what affects the overall timeline.
Expert Advice on Invisalign for Fort Myers Patients
The first weeks set the pattern for the rest of your treatment. Here is what we help new Invisalign patients get right from day one.
Common Mistakes in the First Week
- Snacking through the day. Each meal or snack means taking your aligners out and brushing before you put them back, so we suggest grouping meals together and drinking only water while they are in.
- Not wearing them for long enough. Wear each aligner for the time set in your treatment plan and remove it only when necessary. A new aligner should feel snug at first, and if it never does, it may not have been worn enough.
- Giving up during early soreness. You may feel some discomfort for the first few days with each new aligner. That pressure is a sign your treatment is progressing. If an aligner doesn’t sit fully over your teeth, mention it at your next check-in, or call us at (239) 542-4626 if it’s getting worse.
Keeping Your Aligners Clean
Brush your teeth before you put your aligners back in after eating. Rinse the aligners whenever you take them out, and clean them with the Invisalign cleaning system or brush them gently with a soft-bristled toothbrush and clear liquid soap. Soak them daily for 15 to 30 minutes, and avoid hot water, which may warp the trays. Carry your case with you, so your aligners go back in after meals instead of ending up in a pocket or a napkin, where a lost set can set your progress back.
Dental Veneers
Cover chips, cracks, gaps or discoloration with veneers, and ask whether Invisalign could reduce the number you need.
Dental Implants
Replace a missing tooth with an implant that is placed and restored at the same office, with your options explained at a consultation first.
Root Canal Treatment
Save an infected or painful tooth with root canal treatment carried out in-house by Endodontist Dr. Meghann Lussier, without a separate appointment at another office on another day.
Emergency Dentistry
Get help with a broken tooth, lost crown or severe toothache. Emergency treatment is available, so call (239) 542-4626 to make an appointment.

Straightening Your Teeth Around a Fort Myers Working Life
Fort Myers is a busy working city, and it is also a city where working adults and retirees live side by side, each with their own reasons for wanting a straighter smile.
For working adults, the way a treatment looks matters as much as the result. Many want to straighten their teeth without it announcing itself in meetings or in front of customers. That is why Invisalign is one of the services our practice focuses on, rather than an occasional extra.
Clear aligners suit that kind of week. They stay in through the working day, come out for lunch, and are changed at home, so most of your treatment happens without a visit. Check-ins are booked in advance and start from 8:00am, Monday through Thursday.
If you are new to the area or new to the practice, your first visit is a consultation. Your teeth are examined, your options are explained and the cost is set out before you decide. New patients are always welcome.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What happens when I move to my next aligner?
A. Each new aligner is shaped slightly differently from the last, so it usually feels snug or tight for the first few days. That pressure means your teeth are moving into their next position. You change aligners at home on the schedule in your treatment plan, and your progress is reviewed at each check-in.
Q. Can I eat and drink while wearing aligners?
A. Take your aligners out to eat and to drink anything other than plain water. Food and sugary or colored drinks can get trapped under the trays or stain them. Brush your teeth before putting the aligners back in, and keep your case with you so they have somewhere safe to go during meals.
Q. How do I clean my aligners?
A. Rinse your aligners whenever you take them out, and brush them gently with a soft toothbrush. Avoid hot water, which may warp the trays, and soak them daily for 15 to 30 minutes. If an aligner doesn't sit fully over your teeth, mention it at your next check-in.
Q. Is Elite Coral Dentistry part of a chain?
A. No. Elite Coral Dentistry is a family-owned private practice that has served Cape Coral from the same address since 1985. Dr. Joseph Mejia has owned the practice since July 2022. Fort Myers patients see the same team at each visit, and every treatment option is explained before you decide.
Q. Will holiday closures affect my aligner check-ins?
A. The office closes for a small number of public holidays each year, including Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and several days over Christmas and New Year. Because check-ins are booked in advance, they are scheduled around these closures. Call (239) 542-4626 or message our text line at (941) 479-2183 if you need to change an appointment.
